Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Sahibganj Forest Division has invited applications from eligible candidates for engagement of a Research/Study Team on a temporary contractual basis for preparation of the Working Plan of Sahibganj Forest Division in accordance with the National Working Plan Code (NWPC), 2023.

Post-wise Qualification & Remuneration:
Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Postgraduate qualification with minimum 2 years of research experience in Forestry, Ecology, Statistics, Wildlife Biology or allied disciplines, or candidates pursuing Ph.D. may apply. Consolidated remuneration is ₹35,000 per month.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Postgraduate degree in Forestry, Ecology, Botany, Environmental Science, Sociology, Statistics, Watershed Management, Economics or allied disciplines. Consolidated remuneration is ₹30,000 per month.
Technical Trainer-cum-Field Team Leader: Graduate or Diploma in Forestry, Ecology, Botany, Environmental Science, Sociology, Economics or allied disciplines, completed or ongoing, along with suitability for field-level work as prescribed in the notification. Consolidated remuneration is ₹30,000 per month.
Nature of Work:
The selected Research/Study Team will assist Sahibganj Forest Division in field surveys, data collection, analysis and documentation required for preparation of the Working Plan.
- Socio-economic survey and forest-dependency assessment.
- Soil survey and assessment.
- Biodiversity assessment.
- Assessment of Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) and Medicinal & Aromatic Plants.
- Forest carbon stock and carbon sequestration assessment.
- Bamboo assessment.
- Watershed and soil erosion vulnerability assessment.
- Forest fire vulnerability assessment.
- Wildlife habitat and human-wildlife conflict assessment.
- Assessment of mining impact and eco-restoration requirements.
Area of Operation:
Selected candidates will work within the administrative jurisdiction of Sahibganj Forest Division. Field visits, data collection and ground-truthing will be required across interior forest areas and different Ranges and Beats.
