Educational Qualification & Experience:

Qualification and experience vary according to the faculty cadre and specialty. Medical candidates generally require the prescribed medical qualification along with MD/MS/DM/M.Ch or equivalent qualification in the relevant discipline and the required teaching/research experience.

For applicable non-medical faculty disciplines, candidates must possess the prescribed Master's Degree in the concerned specialty along with a recognized Doctorate Degree and required teaching/research experience.

Teaching / Research Experience:

• Professor: Generally 14 years teaching/research experience after the prescribed qualifying degree for broad specialties.
• Additional Professor: Generally 10 years teaching/research experience after the prescribed qualifying degree.
• Associate Professor: Generally 6 years teaching/research experience after the prescribed qualifying degree.
• Assistant Professor: Generally 3 years teaching/research experience after the prescribed qualifying degree.

Different experience requirements apply to super-specialty disciplines according to the duration/type of DM/M.Ch qualification. Candidates should therefore check the detailed notification for their particular department and cadre.

Nursing Faculty Qualification:

For Associate Professor (Reader), College of Nursing, candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University, be a Registered Nurse Midwife and have 8 years' experience after M.Sc. Nursing including 5 years of teaching experience. Ph.D. in Nursing is desirable.

Age Limit:

• Professor / Additional Professor: Maximum 58 Years
• Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: Maximum 50 Years
• Nursing Associate Professor: Maximum 50 Years

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates as per Government of India rules.

Pay Scale:

• Professor: Level 14-A – ₹1,68,900 to ₹2,20,400 + applicable NPA
• Additional Professor: Level 13-A2+ – ₹1,48,200 to ₹2,11,400 + applicable NPA
• Associate Professor: Level 13-A1+ – ₹1,38,300 to ₹2,09,200 + applicable NPA
• Assistant Professor: Level 12 – ₹1,01,500 to ₹1,67,400 + applicable NPA
• Nursing Associate Professor: Level 12 – ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200
