Project Title:
Development of a Novel Formate-Based Injection Method for Enhanced Carbon Storage and Oil Recovery in Cambay Basin Oil Fields: Supporting Energy Security and Net-Zero Goals
Project Work:
The selected JRF will work on research related to enhanced oil recovery and carbon sequestration using formate-based injection techniques.
- Design different formate-based chemical slugs for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and carbon sequestration.
- Evaluate different injection schemes.
- Study synergy with other chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery methods.
Essential Qualification:
Candidates should possess any of the following prescribed qualifications:
- B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering / Chemical Engineering; or
- M.E. / M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering / Chemical Engineering; or
- M.Sc. in Chemistry.
GATE or NET qualification is mandatory.
Desirable Qualification:
For candidates from Petroleum Engineering, experience or knowledge in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and reservoir simulation is desirable.
For candidates from Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, knowledge of the basic chemistry of salts, surfactants and polymers is desirable.
Fellowship:
- First Two Years: ₹37,000 per month + Applicable HRA
- Third Year: ₹42,000 per month + Applicable HRA, subject to satisfactory performance
Project Tenure:
The appointment will initially be for one year and may be extended up to three years or completion of the project, as applicable.
Ph.D. Opportunity:
The selected candidate may be permitted to register for the Ph.D. programme at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in accordance with Institute rules.
The position may also be converted into a regular Institute JRF if the selected candidate is admitted to the Ph.D. programme.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit is 28 years at the time of appointment. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and female candidates as per Government of India/DST rules.
