Deoghar Home Guard Recruitment 2026:
Jharkhand Home Guard, Deoghar has invited online applications from eligible candidates for new enrollment of Rural and Urban Home Guards against Advertisement No. 01/2026. A total of 772 vacancies have been announced across different blocks and urban areas of Deoghar district.
Important: Home Guard is a voluntary organisation and Home Guards are its voluntary members. This enrollment is not a salaried government job or permanent means of livelihood. Allowance at the prescribed government rate is payable only for the days on which a Home Guard is deployed for duty.

Educational Qualification:
Rural Home Guard: Candidate must have passed at least Class 7th.
Urban Home Guard: Candidate must have passed at least Matriculation / Class 10th.
Residential Eligibility:
Rural Home Guard: The candidate must be a permanent resident of the same block of Deoghar district from which he/she applies for Rural Home Guard enrollment.
Urban Home Guard: The candidate must be an ordinary resident of an urban area of Deoghar district.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 19 and 40 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
Physical Standards:
- Male – General/OBC/BC: Minimum Height 162 cm; Chest 79 cm
- Male – SC/ST: Minimum Height 157 cm; Chest 76 cm
- Female – All Categories: Minimum Height 148 cm
Urban Technical Home Guard:
For Urban Home Guard vacancies, 50% of the posts are earmarked for technically skilled candidates. Technical skills may include professions/trades such as doctor, engineer, advocate, professor, nurse, computer operator, typist, licensed driver, cook, carpenter, cobbler, washerman, barber, electrician, gardener and plumber, among others, subject to valid proof of technical skill.

Women Reservation:
50% of Rural and Urban Home Guard vacancies are earmarked for women. Out of the vacancies earmarked for women, 5% are reserved for eligible divorced, deserted or widow women as prescribed in the notification.
